Small dedicated computers (Raspberry Pi’s) are used to control devices in my home hydroponics systems. The Aerogarden display is an actual commercial Aerogarden whos electronics had died. I now use Cayenne to control the individual components. (Grow light, feeding pump and have added an air pump to infuse oxygen into the root system of the plants.) The Greenroom components run on a slower/older Raspberry Pi in a different room. Grow Lights and auxiliary devices are controlled via Cayenne on a schedule. Pepper Cam Livestream Click the “play” icon above to start the live view of our automated indoor greenhouse feed which is environmentally controlled with IOT Cayenne software running on a Raspberry Pi. I am able to control and monitor this device from my phone or any web browser anyplace in the world. In addition, I have a scheduler programmed that controls the lights, pumps and air bubblers as needed, all stored on a remote server. This camera feed uses an old retired and repurposed iPhone 4 running IP Cam software, and transmits it’s feed to YouTube. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ! It took me all of about a half hour to easily install. I work on a bunch of different computers, and having all of the ports I need as well as electrical outlets is very convenient. Pros: Totally handy well made unit. Cons: I’ve never used a hole saw without a pilot drill at center. I had thoughts of scrapping the included hole saw and buying one with a center drill guide. Total surprise: The included hole saw worked just fine. Take your time, start slow and once started works fine. Concern: The hole saw should work for most uses... but if my desk was much thicker, I might have run into installation problems without a hole saw with a center drill to attack the hole from the opposite side.
